Closeworks is built by David Shumba. Background in finance data and Microsoft Fabric pipelines at a major UK automotive manufacturer, working with SAP FICA reconciliations at production scale. Closeworks brings the same engineering discipline to UK accountancy firms that have outgrown Excel but can’t justify a six-figure consultancy.

The work at a large manufacturer meant solving finance problems at volume — hundreds of thousands of transactions, tight close schedules, and zero tolerance for errors in the reconciliation layer. The tooling was enterprise-grade. The discipline required is the same that any finance team needs, regardless of size.

Accountancy practices at the 5–50 staff level face versions of the same problems. The difference is they often lack access to the people who know how to solve them without a six-figure engagement minimum. That is the gap Closeworks exists to fill.
